Where We Work

Two-story brown brick house under a blue sky

Georgetown, TX

The Victorian houses around the courthouse square and the slab homes out in Sun City sit on very different ground and move in very different ways.

Brick house under construction on a fresh concrete slab

Hutto, TX

Some of the deepest black clay in the county, under subdivisions that went up quickly on what used to be farmland.

White house with a driveway and a green lawn

Cedar Park, TX

Rock near the surface on one side of a street and imported fill on the other. Cut-and-fill pads need checking before anyone quotes piers.

New house under construction with a dark roof

Leander, TX

New building everywhere, on rolling ground that was graded flat to make pads. Young slabs move too, and the first years are the telling ones.

Single-story brick house with shutters on a quiet street

Taylor, TX

Early 1900s houses on pier and beam near the old downtown, and new slabs going down on deep farm clay east of town.

Brick house with an attached garage and green lawn

Wells Branch, TX

An early 1980s district where the trees planted with the houses are now big enough to pull real moisture out of the clay.

Brick house with cars parked in the driveway

Brushy Creek, TX

Homes from the 1990s and 2000s along the creek, where the limestone to the west gives way to clay heading east.

Planning a Visit in Your Area

The single most useful thing you can tell us is the year the house was built. A 1985 slab that has been through forty summers of shrink and swell has a different history from a 2019 post-tension slab that is still settling into its pad. An early 1900s house on a crawl space is a third conversation again.

After that, tell us which direction the lot slopes, whether there are large live oaks or cedar elms near the house, and whether water stands anywhere along the foundation after a storm. Those three things explain a large share of the movement we see between US 79, I-35 and the toll roads.

Read how a repair is planned, compare the services we offer, or go straight to requesting an inspection. The questions page covers what an inspection involves.
